My name is Andy Jones. Middle aged but now into probably my 5th or 6th childhood with no intention of ever growing up. Mountain walker, skier and surf kakaying enthusiast, with the enthusiasm always fighting a losing battle against fitness and ability. I keep trying to get the wife and two kids to share my passion but seeing as most of my pastimes are either wet or cold or normally both they don’t seem all that keen – strange. I also very occasionally pretend to be a serious business professional in my job as an IT Project Manager for Nokia.

A few photos of your truly in action:

  3. I have been dreadfully remiss and hadn’t found you (or, I may have but it might have been all a very long time ago and besides, the wench is dead). But – now I have – I see that you have very kindly included my blog on your blog roll. Thanks for that. I like the look of your place and so after a mosey around I shall reciprocate; it will help me not lose you for the future.

    • I feel I’ve been equally remiss in not following your blog closely. My list of blog crimes is growing – “My client wishes to have several other offences taken into account” I’ll be reading your Jersey posts now and comparing them with BTB’s (we’ve been mates for over 25 years – he was the one who inpsired me to blog). Hope you enjoy the blog – I’m way behind so lots of new posts on the way…. soon…… I promise 🙂

  6. Hi Andy, I’ve just tried sending you an e-mail but it’s been bounced back – have you changed your address?

    • Not changed my email address, must be an email glitch. Assuming the email address that appears for you in the comment email WordPress sends me is correct I’ll send you one and you can reply

  7. Hi Andy great blog you have. Shame you haven’t been able to be as active as it seems you have been in the recent past! I just wanna say thanks again for your kind comments, especially as yours was the first comment on my newborn Blog. I keep checking to see if anyone else has commented but I guess that eagerness will pass when the novelty wears off lol Whether anybody reads it or not I do enjoy writing about my trips and thoughts on backpacking. Any tips or advice you could give would also be welcome 😉
Look forward to your next post.

    • Hi Elton, welcome to my world 🙂
      Thanks for the kind words.
It is great when you get regular readers and commenters but like you I write mainly for my own benefit and just hope people enjoy my photos. A few tips for generating hits and readers:
Comment on other blogs (shamelessly plugging your own at the same time!) is the best way
Ask people to add your blog to their RSS feeds and blog roll if they reciprocate
Offer the option to subscribe by email (that’s my main way I keep track of my favorites)
Tag your posts with key words
Tag your photos with key words
Link posts to Facebook if you use it
Review gear if you can be bothered, those posts always get hits but I can’t be bothered to write them
Took 3-4 months for my blog to become known and get some regular readers and comments
Best of luck, any questions just ask
      Andy

  8. Hi Andy, still doing mountain walk? I think that’s great. I’m not 50 yet but my best is walking fast around the block, get sweaty, then hit home. 😀

  9. Ha ha, you sound just like me. Especially the never growing up thing and the ability/enthusiasm clash!
