Back to late January for some rather nice photos of mountains, snow, selfies and over-indulgence
For the first time I went for a whole week’s skiing when fresh snow never fell. Not great for off piste powder skiing but rather good for cruising in the sunshine and topping up the tan.
Obligatory selfie
Ski bums
Blue skies
Cold beers
And some skiing
Snow-capped peaks as far as the eye can see
A proper mans drink and a ladies tea cup
Blazing sunshine
The roof of Europe
Yet more food
And we even squeezed in a little more skiing
Mountains galore
And a slideshow with video footage thrown in for free…..
Fantastic. Words can’t express!

Thanks Jeanne, shame me and my motley crew of mates spoilt some of the nice alpine photos 🙂

When did the beard appear?

About a year ago (I don’t appear in many photos, frightens the younger readers), decided I liked not having to shave every morning

Have you got a beard now as well, then?

I’ve had a beard of sorts since…I’m not sure, a long time. But at present I’m growing it longer. Going for the ZZ Top look I think. Others have asked whether I’m preparing for being Santa at the village kids party. My kids have taken to calling me Smee, for the Disney character in Peter Pan. (My beard is a bit white.)

I was curious as to how long I could leave it before it drove me mad, answer = 3 weeks.

The photos suggest that this was mostly a gastronomic experience – good to see that the videos in the slideshow redress the balance!

We always eat a full lunch out now, mostly burgers and chips but we do have one reasonably posh place we eat a couple of times each trip. The first food photo is a cracking place we found that does a very good burger, chips, huge salad and a beer for 10€.
Oh and we did some pretty good skiing as well….
